ZK - Open Source Ajax Java Framework

I wonder if anyone has the same problem/solution or is this a defect?
My Ctrl+Space code assist works like a charm up until I add my project to source control (Perforce in my case). When I add files and need to check them out to make changes, Ctrl+Space only makes a 'ding' sound on Windows (a little bit worse sound on Mac in the same scenario...) and that's it.
Anyone has a solution?

Edit: I am using the P4Eclipse perforce plugin in this scenario. The workaround that I just thought about is to check the project out outside of Eclipse and work with the source control using an external client. But this can only go for so long...

We are not familiar with P4Eclipse. Any one ever hit the same issue?
